BRUNO CAVERNA
Bruno Caverna is the founder of GFP — Gravitational Field Principle, and creator of the Play-Fight and Liquid-Bodypractices. Since 1985 he has immersed himself in a wide range of body–mind disciplines — including capoeira, acrobatics, contact improvisation, contemporary dance, qigong, Russian Systema, Watsu, freediving, and Somatic Breath.

Over four decades, Bruno’s research has evolved into a precise and integrative study of how the human nervous system relates to gravity, resistance, fear, and connection. Guided by refined perceptual sensitivity and a commitment to embodiment over theory, he has developed a unique pedagogical language that bridges somatics, movement intelligence, and subtle relational awareness. Through GFP, Bruno supports practitioners in revealing and reorganizing the unconscious patterns that shape their movement, presence, and inner freedom.

Bruno Caverna — Biography
Bruno Caverna began teaching in 1995, facilitating capoeira sessions for inmates in a psychiatric hospital. These early experiences ignited a lifelong fascination with the human condition — the visible and the invisible, the dignified and the forgotten — and planted the seeds of an embodied philosophy that would take decades to mature.

For a time, Bruno attempted to follow a conventional academic path, studying Psychology and Physiotherapy. Yet he quickly grew skeptical as he observed how professional identities and worldviews were subtly imposed and shaped by the institutional environment. Sensing the narrowing of his destiny, he made a radical decision: in 2000 he abandoned the comfort of his middle-upper-class life in Rio de Janeiro and walked alone into the Amazon rainforest.

This journey into the vast and terrifying unknown was not an escape but an act of responsibility — a conscious refusal to conform to the life society was quietly scripting for him. Immersed in the immensity of the forest, Bruno confronted his deepest fears and met the raw forces of life and death, purpose and insignificance. The Amazon fundamentally transformed his perception of work, relationships, love, fear, freedom, and the fragile architecture of identity.

Since that pivotal experience, Bruno has lived as a modern wanderer, sharing his visions, practices, and philosophy across nearly 40 countries. Over the past three decades he has committed himself to teaching from a place of authenticity and integration, weaving together nearly forty years of knowledge received from remarkable teachers, disciplines, and traditions.

Among these encounters, the meeting with Alexander Solovev in 2016 was transformational. Alexander — a rare genius and direct transmitter of concealed principles from ancient Russian martial arts — revolutionized Bruno’s life and practice. His teachings profoundly influenced Bruno’s understanding of the Falling Principle, reshaping the foundations of how Bruno embodies, transmits, and perceives movement, presence, and relational intelligence.

Today, Bruno is channeling this lifetime of exploration into the creation of GFP — Gravitational Field Principle, his own evolving methodology and pedagogy. GFP seeks to bridge an unspoken gravitational language to a broader audience by translating the subtle mechanics of falling, resistance, and nervous system intelligence into accessible human experience.

As Bruno witnesses the impact of this work on people’s lives — far beyond the context of classes — he has become convinced that GFP carries the potential to become a powerful tool for transformation and healing. Gravity touches every human being, every second of every day, and the way we unconsciously resist its field shapes our physical, emotional, and relational freedom. GFP offers a map back to that forgotten relationship — a way to reorganize, soften, and reawaken the intelligence that has always been there.
